HORT 308: PLANTS FOR SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPES
In this class I learned identification, morphology, classification, nomenclature for indigenous and introduced plants as well as adaptability for use in urban landscape environments for ornamental and flowering plants.
HORT 201: HORTICULTURALÂ SCIENCES AND PRACTICES
Introductory class to Horticultural sciences. In this class I learned the basic concepts of plant and their important biological systems. As well as how to care, grow, and propagate horticultural plants.
HORT 325: VEGETABLE CROP PRODUCTION
This class taught me everything you need to know about major vegetable crops. Such as origin, nutrient value, nutrient requirement, field practices, and economic importance. In the lab we grew over 15 types of vegetable crops and the harvest went to the local food-bank.
HORT 326: PLANT PROPAGATION
This class taught me basically every single technique to propagate a plant by the way of either sexual or asexual propagation. I learned how to propagate seeds, rootings, cuttings, and how to graft and bud. I also learned new bio-technologies such as micro-propagation and tissue culture systems.

GENE 310: PRINCIPLES OF HEREDITY
In this class I learned classical genetics, molecular genetics, mutation theory and genetic engineering. I felt this class redefined the genetics I already knew and helped prepare me for Plant Breeding.
Tissue culturing African Violets
ENTO 201: GENERAL ENTOMOLOGY
This class covered general insect anatomy, physiology, metamorphosis and classification. We learned over 30 of the major insect orders and their economic and biological importance.
A picture I took of a butterfly at the Antique Rose Emporium
SCSC 301: SOIL SCIENCE
This class covers the nature and properties of all aspects of soils. We learn all the different soil types and their importance around the globe. Also how ecologically important they are due to their interacts with the enviornment.
My home summer garden right after planting seeds and transplants
SCSC 304: PLANT BREEDING
This class taught me basic plant breeding techniques and experimental designs. I also learned some statistically important information to better understand data collection. I even got to experience a plant breeding development from the first crosses to finally mass seed production.

HORT 335: SOCIOHORTICULTURE
Sociohorticulture in its most basic form is how people interact with horticultural plants. This class brought a whole new perspective on how important plants are to people on a daily basis and how we unconscionably interact with them in a benefical way.
